Today I invest in something I intend to keep.

Fine lambskin only gets better with time — if you treat it kindly. The good news: caring for it takes minutes, not effort. Here's everything you need to know.

Everyday. Wipe your piece regularly with a soft, dry cloth. That single habit keeps the surface clean and the leather breathing.

A deeper clean. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild soap, or a product made specifically for leather. Work gently, then let it air.

Nourish it. Every three to six months, apply a nourishing leather cream. This is what keeps lambskin supple and stops it from drying out — the difference between a jacket that ages beautifully and one that simply ages.

If it gets wet. Don't panic, and don't rush it. Let it dry naturally in the open air, away from radiators and direct heat. Once dry, reapply the cream.

Storing it. Keep your leather in a cool, dry place, on a broad hanger, protected by a breathable garment cover — never plastic.

Treated this way, a lambskin jacket isn't a purchase. It's an inheritance.
